It all starts from when they are young, giving your puppy the right tools from the beginning can be beneficial to both owner and dog. A dog is usually ready for training around eight weeks old.
We offer puppy training that can be split into two sessions lasting around two hours each. Usually we allow four to five weeks between training so you have time to put into practice the methods taught. Training is not only for the puppies but for the owners too. You will learn from Jenni how to go forward and teach your own dog in the future.
Some of the areas covered with puppy training are, toilet training, sleep training, how to control food/toy possession, biting/teething, jumping up, avoiding anxiety, lead walking, recall and socialisation advice. Obviously there is much more to be done but these are the general basics you and your pup will learn,
Puppy training is set at a fixed price which you will see above and you will get phone/email/skype support if needed between the two sessions.

Here at Salisbury Dog trainers we try to adhere to a positive approach to training or retraining your best friend. We use modern methods in our training sessions, using positive reinforcement (rewarding with treats and praise) and punishing (taking treats away)
We never make use of any techniques that could cause harm or distress to your four legged friend, such as shock collars.
If your are experiencing behavioural problems with your dog, Jenni from Salisbury dog trainers is on call to help. Over the years she has dealt with hundreds of behaviour issues with pretty much every breed of dog out there.
Training usually starts in your home, getting a picture of your dogs environment and how you handle them is key to understanding the reason behind the unwanted behaviour. As with most cases it is not always the dog that has the biggest problem, more so how we as owners are communicating with them.
The types of problems Jenni has helped with are.
Aggressive behaviour, excessive barking, destroying furniture, anxiety, jumping up, recall, pulling on the lead, eating doggy poo and much much more.
All prices are above and are fixed with no hidden costs. The price shown is for jobs withing a 30 mile radius of Salisbury SP2 8DH. If you live futher away please call for a quote for your area.
